Why can't I do cross overs?

  • Been trying really hard to do cross overs. It seems though that whenever I try to cross my skate over the other, the foot always starts to point off in the opposite direction... away from the turn... and it is EXTREMELY tough to even get my feet to cross.

While running, a personal trainer spotted me and what looked like an extremely tight IT band (Iliotibial band that connects your hip to your knee on the outside of your thigh).

Does anyone think this can be the problem? I did not ask the trainer because I didn't think of it then. It would kinda make sense... if the IT band was really tight, it would keep my leg from crossing the midline.

    Any thoughts?

  • See a physical therapist. Even if somebody here was one, it would be very hard to diagnose based on text.
