I work with a fellow who fancies himself as being really smart and provocative and fascinating to be around. The reality is that he is a pseudo-intellectual tool who refuses to shut up. When you tell him to leave you alone, he views that as some sort of challenge, and he launches into an "I'm too important to be silenced" mode. He feels that he needs to "enlighten" us with some sort of "truth" that only he knows.
How do you deal with someone who is that insecure and ignorant? Then again, his narcissism and delusions may be so severe that it is impossible to be reasonable with him. Good Luck with that jerk. He will eventually get the point to shut up and get a life.
Its going to take a good group of people to sit him down for an intervention. Tell him to blow it out his ***! Also try to ask him if he was neglected by his parents as a child and rub that in his face!just tell him his a genius and youre a retard,if that doesnt work give him a paradox so you can silently sneak away while his thinking his head off xDi would give him a good "burn" a couple of times and that aught to get him to leave you alone. Since he knows it all simply ask him "How do you deal with a know it all that is ignorant and delusional in most peoples eye? Especially since you've asked him to be quite and to stop due to a lack of interest and he thinks it is some sort of challenge.So have been there. It's so annoying! For the most part, you can't really reason with people like that. Just try and have the least amount of contact with him. If you get sucked up into his arguments you are only going to frustrate yourself even more. Seems like he is those attention seeker kind, he needs you to acknowledge him in order to attain validation. Avoid the game, the less attention you give him the better. Politely, be busy when he comes around? politely, leave the area. Do not give him all the attention he needs I guess, like "What was that" Looking at him dumbfounded. People like that are tuff, for me, you want to tell them where to go but, but ha just don't want to be that rude, at least for me.
Or have a heart to heart with him on the issue, that can be difficult.
