  • He's my friend and his self-esteem is really low at the moment! He thinks he is ugly...how would you rate him? Out of 10...here are some pics

  • Well, I look beneath the surface and I see someone who is very sad and lonely. He lacks confidence and motivation.

    He must remember that one cannot look outside of oneself for happiness. Also, if he were in a group of people he would not be approachable because he looks so unhappy. It does not have anything to do with how he looks on the outside-it is an attitude that one emits without even being aware of it.

    I also wonder if this person is dealing with a long-term depression and feels as if he is in a black hole and cannot get out. If so, I would recommend counseling because depression is a brain disease- and physiological disorder that severe enough could cause many emotional problems. It would be worth it for him to at least rule it out because there is help for this disorder and many walk around not knowing they have it.

    That said, this young man is not ugly! Yet if someone keeps telling themselves over and over again they begin to live what they believe. Once he gets the proper help and assessment he can move forward and there are many ways to increase self-esteem. One way is by repeating affirmations daily that are positive and build self-worth.

    Ones attitude has a huge influence on how people look to the world. Your friend is a good-looking guy, with great eyes and face, but needs help ascertaining what is going on within his spirit. Until he makes friends with his inner world his outside appearance will more or less be a reflection of his thoughts. We can change our thoughts! The choice is his.
