This can only be a script problem, right?

  • hi guys,

i have the oct. 17 build of xbmc 1.1, and i can get album info and weather without problems.

however, i cannot get imdb, apple trailers, or rss feeds to work.

since i can get the album info and the weather, then that means that my problem is not with my network connection, but rather with the scripts, right?

i am really new at this, but i have been trying to read up on this in the forums for the past two days. i have downloaded and replaced my scripts with other peoples, but it doesn't seem to work.

is it just a matter of trying different scripts until i find one that works, or could there be another problems (with the network).

also, i have the xbox connected directly to my d-link router.

    thanks,
    brandon

  • the xbmc team do major point "releases" (they dont actually release anything, they just say this snapshot of the code is as bug free as they can get) and these are v1.0 and now v1.1 is the latest. since then there has been new features and code upgrades almost daily. these are generally noted as the day they were "built".
now as the app is built using microsofts xdk the developers cannot release the final program only the source code. as such it is against these forum rules to ask for any built programs. as a hint just do a search on google for "xbmc cvs". you should find some easily.

so.. to answer you inital question, download a newer build and then test your scripts again.

  • get a newer build! if using as dash, make sure to put up all things correctly. read the log file or look at the script-log (i am not sure wich button it comes up with). search the forum. post the log file.

  • i'm not using it as my dash, and where can i find a newer build?

on xboxmediacenter.com, the only download file i see for 1.1.0 (under downloads) is the october 17th build. where are newer builds, and why would there be any differences between versions of 1.1.0? i have seen people discuss newer builds on the forums, but if there was a difference or even a bug fix wouldn't they have named it 1.1.1 or something?

sorry for what may be painfully obvious questions, but i am still getting my footing around here (i'm a physiologist, and only play with computers as a hobby).

    thanks,
    brandon
