along with other words like (favour, flavour,) ppl at school spell it like color and im the only one that does it with a U..i kinda do it out of habit..thats just how i spell it. which one is right?Canada - colour (British/English way?)
American - colorColor is used US English
Colour is spelt in UK English. Both r correct 1 is british english which is colour and 2nd is american english they write it as color. In the US it's color, in Britain it's colour, same with flavor & flavour and other similar words. Personally speaking, I think "colour" is a more colorful way to spell it.
If you are attending school in the US, your teachers will probably want the US version.

"England and America are two countries divided by a common
language." - George Bernard Shaw
They're both right.
"Color" is American, while "colour" is Canadian.
Flavour, labour, etc. are all Canadian. It depends where in the world you're located. The -or version is American style; people in the UK and most Commonwealth countries use the original, -our spelling.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
