Does Australia have a side full of (half decent) batsman all the way to number 11?

  • I was just discussing this. Yeah Aussie can bat all the way down the order, its quite amazing. India can do, except for Sharma :)

  • Specialist batsmen are only till No.7 or 8 when Haddin comes to bat. But after that, all the bowlers are even half decent batters if your wanna put it that way. Even our no.11, Stuart Clarke is pretty good & one of the best No.11s going around at the moment. Brett is almost an allrounder with an avg of above 21. Mitchell Johnson can bat as well.

    We have batsman up to about no 7 or no 8.

    But after that we have our bowlers - who are very good for tail enders.

  • Yes. In my view the Australian side has very good batting line up than any other side have, which is true before coming to Indian trip. Now it's not true because if you want to be at the top of the table in rankings all the players in the team should contribute and take the team to winning stream collectively. And also the team should perform well in all the pitches,in all the countries and in all the conditions. In my view if any team is winning and going on top means the players are performing and doing for the team collectively like the Indian Team doing in the past 2 to 3 months.


  • Australia's tail-enders are very capable with the bat.
    Mitchell Johnson has a very good technique, and is very powerful.
    Stuart Clark can also strike the ball well.

    For tail-enders they are very good, something Australian cricket hasn't been used to with bunnies like Glenn McGrath previously being number 11.


  • just look at todays batting, clark 18 off like 12 or something, johnson got the second highest with 31... and the shots clark played were quite impressive especially for a number 11, if he were in any other national side he would be at 9 i reckon. the tail is probably the best going around, they have a good nuisance value even if they aren't scoring.

    Whether they can do what's required in real life is another matter altogether.
