Can Different Colored Liquids Turn Your Pee That Color?

  • I've always known pee to be yellow, and only yellow...Sometimes different shades of yellow, but still yellow....Is there any way pee can change it's yellow color into another color?? Like from drinking a different colored liquid??


  • Only if a colorant does not undergo chemical reactions in the body and is excreted by the kidneys unchanged (or if a colored substance is formed in the body from a colorless substance and is excreted by the kidneys )
    E.g if you eat much beetroot the liquid turns reddish

  • I've always wanted to turn my pee glow in the dark but i've never succeeded- LOL.
    You can, however, change your pee colour to clear. I mean absolutely water clear.
    You can do this by drinking a LOT (but not too much or your nerves will be affected) of water in a day- by the end of the day, your pee should be clear. If it's still yellow, drink more water.
    You can also turn it orangey, by not drinking enough water and taking a lot of vitamin C.
