Claudio Ranieri

  • Will make his decision in the next 24 hours weather he will accept the manager's job. Do you think this is a good hire if he accepts ?

  • It's a mistake. He would be excellent for them. Who do they think is better qualified I wonder?
I agree. Claudio is a class act and I think OM needs a guy like him.

  • For me, Ranieri does not seem to be a good choice at all to take a place at l'om.

    Hope not to get him.

  • Who would you prefer om4ever? Any suggestions?

  • Looks like OM dont wanna meet his demands.

  • Deschamps is a competent coach. But he asks too much and we all know that's not the way it works at OM..

Sucking Anigo's dick to work things out is going to be the very last thing he would do in his managerial career for god's sake!

  • Laurent Blanc, anyone?

  • They do want him but he's asking for too much money, control, etc.

  • OM: three times more for Ranieri (08/06)
Whereas the arrival of Ranieri to the OM does not seem any more topicality, one knows some a little more about the wage claims of the former trainer of Chelsea. According to Provence, the Italian coach would have asked for two million of annual euros. That represents nearly three times more than the former trainer Jean Fernandez, whose annual wages bordered the 720 000 euros. One includes/understands better than Diouf declared: "one could not reach his financial claims." (By Urbain Mandrillon)

  • WOW!

one of a few things must be true:
1)Claudio thinks too highly of himself and is not worth that amount

    Possibly

    2)OM is frickin cheap

I dont think they are cheap I think they dont think he's worth what he's asking for.

3)Ligue 1 and OM are not NEARLY in the same financial universe as the EPL

Yeah well I thought everyone knew that already.

  • The more control he takes away from Diouf and Anigo the better as far as I'm concerned.

  • This would be a great hire for Marseille. He did great things at Chelsea and was forced out somewhat unfairly I think. Aside from his tactical blunder at the Stade Louis II, and his constant tinkering, he's fantastic. You can also be sure that a Ranieri side will play very attractive football.

  • Monaco fan and a Ligue 1 fan. No one else here is speaking for Marseille and Im here so why not I

  • I think 2 million a year would be worth it for a coach like him. I don't know where they think they're going to find somebody who's as good who would come cheaper.

  • Laurent Blanc, anyone?
    That would be gambling.

I perfered to have Deschamps. but unfortunately he decided not to come.

Any suggestions??? nothing in my mind at the moment.

LOL...nice responses. In the end, who is the best manager available for what OM can afford?

P.S. Are you just a huge fan of Ligue 1 or do you also like OM?

  • Monaco fan and a Ligue 1 fan. No one else here is speaking for Marseille and Im here so why not I
    Too true.

One can never talk enough about football (either club or country/any league), in my humble opinion.
