The new advancements include:
- Wireless personal trust agent: Micro-client code which can be embedded in handheld devices enabling them to use private keys along with digital certificates and signatures
- Short-lived wireless server certificates: New 'mini-digital certificates' which provide both authentication and real-time certificate validation for handhelds
- Gateway-assisted SSL: A new trust model enabling network service providers to substitute existing SSL certificates with wireless certificates
Verisign (VRSN) also rolled out a new group of wireless trust services which are designed to authenticate buyers, sellers and developers.
